About us

Short introduction to Johan Jakobsson's research

Our lab is interested in transposable elements and how these viral-like sequences influence human brain evolution, neurodegenerative diseases, brain tumors and ageing. Our expertise includes human stem cell cultures, viral vectors, gene editing, cellular reprogramming and bioinformatical analysis of transposons.

We are currently looking for new members (postdocs, computational biologists and bioinformaticians) to our team to work in our translational projects related to neuroinflammation, transposable elements and single cell analysis. If you are interested in working with us then please contact Johan Jakobsson (johan [dot] jakobsson [at] med [dot] lu [dot] se (johan[dot]jakobsson[at]med[dot]lu[dot]se)).
